Soup Season!

There is nothing like a warm soup on a cold day!  Fall and winter days are just right.  Besides warming you up they are so easy most of the time.  Here are some new soups we have been trying recently.

This first soup was made by my sister Sarah from Clay in His Hands.

This soup is so easy to make it the way you want it because you could add ground beef or chicken or onions and garlic. You can make if spicy or no so spicy.

Taco Soup

1 can of black beans
1 can of pinto beans
1 can of diced tomatoes
Frozen corn
Taco seasoning
Broth or water to your consistency and taste

Combine and cook for an hour or so.
Serve with chips, cheese, cilantro, sour cream or salsa.

This soup is so much better with fresh cooked beans in my opion.  When you cook a pot of beans freeze some of them to pull out and make this soup just as quickly as with caned beans.

Spicy Refried Bean Soup

2T. oil
1 large onion chopped
3 cloves garlic minced or 1tsp. garlic powder
3/4 cup frozen corn
1 16oz. can refreid beans
1 15oz. can black beans drained and rinsed
2 cups chicken broth or water
1 14 oz can diced tomatoes
1 cup water of yo like your soup more liquidy
1/2 cup salsa (mild or hot you choose)

Extra add ins

1 cup of chopped bell peper any color
Jalapeños
1 t. red pepper flakes
1 t. chili powder
1 t. hot sauce (like Tabasco)

Heat oil in pot and saute onion and garlic.  Add rest of ingredients and simmer for 30 min.

For this soup I also use homemade beans instead of canned.

Serve with
Chips, cheese, sour cream, salsa, cilantro

REMEMBER YOU CAN ALSO USE YOUR CROCK POT!

Yummy soups! I will have to make the Refried Bean Soup. I've tasted it when you made it before, but it has been a while.

I will be putting Taco Soup in the crockpot at our house tomorrow morning! Thanks for sharing, sis.
